Macon Pride seeks to educate our community, celebrate our diversity, commemorate our history, and liberate our people in Middle Georgia. To honor this, we host The Pioneers & Trailblazers Photo History Exhibit each year. This exhibit highlights the diverse contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in Middle Georgia and reflects the inclusive nature of our community.
The portrait series featured in this exhibit pays tribute to activists, pioneers, and trailblazers who have advocated for equality and made significant strides in their respective fields. It is unfortunate that LGBTQ+ history often goes unnoticed or unacknowledged. This exhibit is our way of acknowledging and rectifying this erasure.
The exhibit showcases their stories and achievements and serves as a valuable educational resource, honoring their legacies while helping to educate and inspire others. It's a journey of enlightenment about the LGBTQ+ history in Middle Georgia.
(The exhibit will be hosted in the lobby of the Grand, taking place before Broadway Does Pride)
